Answer

Yes, you can pay your fines online using Interac, Visa or MasterCard.

  1. Login to your My Library Account,
  2. click Pay Fines Online link,
  3. select the fines you wish to pay, select Continue
  4. review total and click Pay Now,
  5. select payment method (credit or debit), and follow prompts.

We also take payments by mail.

Fines can be paid by cheque or money order and sent to the library. Please make the cheque or money order payable to "University of Victoria". Be sure to include your  student number (V-number).

The mailing address is:

Attention:  Fines and Billing

McPherson Library

P.O. Box 1800 STN CSC

Victoria BC  V8W 3H5

Alternately, if you have a friend or family member in town,  you can also request permission to have them make a payment on your behalf.

This will require a "letter of permission" from you, granting the person access to your library account, and permission from you to make the payment on your behalf.  Please contact the loan desk to get specific instruction (loandesk@uvic.ca or 250-721-8230). We require the "letter of permission" from you because the Privacy Act protects all users' account information from being released to anyone other than the account holder.
