What happens if I return interlibrary loan materials after the due date?

Answer

You will be charged overdue fines, which are $2.00 per item per day.


Please return materials immediately if you receive an overdue or recall message by email

  • Your interlibrary loan privileges may be suspended until the overdue material is returned.
  • Longer suspension of privileges may be applied if you are consistently late returning materials.
  • You will be charged for lost or damaged items. Replacement charges are determined by the lending library and are typically assessed for much more than the actual cost of the book.
