Is UVicSpace content peer-reviewed?

Answer

Generally yes. The repository is intended for high-quality scholarly works of academic and research value, which includes both peer reviewed and non–peer reviewed materials. Most authors will elect to archive material that is peer reviewed. Some publishers, however, require that you archive a pre-print version of your article, which is not peer reviewed, even though it will be or already has been.

Other scholarly works from faculty and staff that may not be peer reviewed include conference presentations and technical reports. Similarly, although theses and dissertations are peer reviewed, some types of student works—major projects, fourth-year final honours papers, etc.—may not be. Nonetheless, UVicSpace is meant for scholarly research—not for ephemeral or unfinished works.
