What is "Reference"?

"Reference" can refer to several things:
Reference is a book location on the main floor of McPherson Library where you can find encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, directories and more. These books normally must be used in the library but check with a librarian if you want to sign one out of the library.
Reference can refer to the Library Help Desk, also known as the Reference Desk, where you can discuss your research topic with friendly and knowledgeable Reference librarians. They can give you advice on the best places to search and help you develop useful search strategies.
A reference is also another word for a citation.
