How does the library decide which books and other resources to buy?

Answer

Subject Librarians are responsible for selecting resources (this would include, monographs, journals, print, e-versions, micro, maps, music, media etc) that support the teaching and research at the University of Victoria.   Recommendations from Faculty, Instructors, Students and others are forwarded to the Subject Librarian for their review and approval.  Selections are then ordered and received by the Acquisitions Unit in the Library.

You can suggest a book for purchase.
