How do I find current legislation from Canada or from a province or territory?

Current legislation is also known as statutes, laws, acts and bills.

Answer

The quickest and most reliable, authoritative  source for current Canadian legislation  is the CANLii website, a free online source provided by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.

The website provides a link for Canada federal laws, and a link for each Canadian province and territory.   Legislation is  arranged alphabetically by title of statute. If you do not know the name a particular statute, only its subject,  use a secondary source. You can also visit the Law Library, which holds print copies of all Canadian federal, provincial and territorial legislation.
