Q. What if my Netlink ID doesn't work?


If you have already entered your netlink ID and password and you get prompted again for a username and password, or if you get an "authorization failed" or similar message, follow the checklist below:

  •     Double check to make sure you have entered the correct Netlink ID and password, without typos or spaces. Passwords are limited to a maximum of eight characters. If you have forgotten your password click here to change it.
  •     Are you currently faculty, staff, or an undergraduate, graduate, or continuing studies student in a diploma or certificate program affiliated with University of Victoria? If you're not sure of your status, or you think there's a mistake, click here to check on the status of your NetLink account.
  •     When a website prompts you for a username and password a second time in a session, after you have successfully logged on with your Netlink ID and password, check that you are trying to use UVic licensed resources through links on the Library pages. You cannot access licensed resources directly by typing in the URL of the publisher, nor can you access other licenced resources UVic does not subscribe to, such as those held at other Libraries.
