How do I find microforms?

Answer

Many microforms are found in Library Search and are located in the Microforms area of the McPherson Library.  These will either have a location code designating 'microforms' and a call number or a call number with an Accession number.

For example:

Title: Times-Colonist
Publisher: Victoria BC
Location: Microforms Centre/Film
Call Number: AN5 T5 Accession no.814

If there is,

  • a call number only, you are looking for a microfiche (card) organized by call number in the fiche cabinets.
  • a call number plus accession number, you are looking for a microfilm (film reel) organized by accession number in the film cabinets.

Please ask a staff member for help if you don't find what you are looking for. Visit the Microforms page.
