What is an ISBN? Do I need it?

Answer

ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number.  It's a commerical identifier for books, and each edition of each title has a unique one.  It may be 10 or 13 digits long.  Read more at the International ISBN Agency.

You don't need the ISBN to locate or request a book at UVic Libraries, nor for citing books or chapters correctly.
